Broadsway …. the brilliant combination of fabulous voices, cleverly unique arrangements, timeless music that defies categorization, and side-splitting humour!

It all began when Heather Bambrick (JUNO / ECMA-nominee), Diane Leah (Dora Mavor Moore Award nominee), and Julie Michels (international touring artist) joined forces for a one-time concert and realized just how special the experience was - bringing together the repertoire of musical theatre, with the freedom and spontaneous creativity of jazz. The combination of their respective musical experiences and influences created a show that was eclectic, funny, and very musical … so they kept going!

From the moment they first hit the stage together, Broadsway has been creating quite a buzz - as well as a steadily growing fan base - in every venue they’ve played, from Roy Thomson Hall and the Jazz Bistro in Toronto, to Birdland and the Metropolitan Room in New York. They’ve been featured in some of Canada’s top Jazz and Cabaret festivals, as well as various concert series and feature presentations. Their music brings together a repertoire that ranges from Jazz and Theatre, to Pop and even Classical … all delivered with passion, power, poignance, and plenty of humour!

After releasing their debut recording, Old Friends, to rave reviews, Broadsway followed things up with the seasonal release The Most Wonderful Time … Maybe, which was hailed as “the musical version of the best office Christmas party ever!” (Mark Rheaume, CBC Radio).

Their show has evolved and expanded, developing in varying directions, including their symphony show Broads on Broadway (a show that has become a favourite of every “Pops” series that’s presented it) as well as their Holiday show: The Most Wonderful Time … Maybe.

And, it’s not just the show that evolved and expanded … so did the group, itself! First, bass and drums were added, creating an exciting sound for the group. In 2025, vocalist Kylie Martin (formerly of the Beehive Singers, FourSkör) joined the group and in early 2026, founding member Julie Michels departed in order to focus more on her solo career, and soon vocalist and actor Dale Miller joined the group, putting the “BRO” in Broadsway!
