HEATHER BAMBRICK

Heather Bambrick is a JUNO-nominated vocalist who has collaborated with Fred Hersch, Gene DiNovi, Guido Basso, Rob McConnell, Peter Appleyard, Phil Nimmons, Dave Young, Ian Shaw, Mike Murley, Robi Botos, Ofra Harnoy, Lea Delaria, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, the Hamilton Philharmonic, and many others.  She has performed across Canada, as well as several venues in the US, England, Germany, France, and the Caribbean. Heather’s own shows have been described as “Carol Burnett meets Ella Fitzgerald at a Newfoundland kitchen party”, delivered with warmth, wit, and pure Newfoundland charm and she brings that to Broadsway’s performances.

No stranger to ensemble singing, Heather is not only a founding member of Broadsway but also the Jazz Report Award-winning group The Beehive Singers. As a solo artist, she’s released four albums under her own name - all of which were nominated for East Coast Music Awards - including You’ll Never Know, which was also nominated for Vocal Jazz Recording of the Year at the JUNO Awards (Canada’s version of the Grammy Awards). Outside of her own projects, Heather has been a featured guest on numerous recordings, including those for the Breithaupt Brothers, world-renown cellist Ofra Harnoy, the Caliban Bassoon Quartet, Brian Barlow, Carol Welsman, and the final studio album by the legendary Peter Appleyard. She was also awarded Canada’s National Jazz Award for Vocalist of the Year.

Beyond singing, Heather is one of Canada’s top voice actors, voicing characters for commercial campaigns and several Emmy Award-winning animated series, including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Carl the Collector, Wild Kratts, and Justin Time. For almost 25 years she’s been a highly-popular, award-winning host on JAZZ.FM91, recently receiving the inaugural Canadian Radio Award for “Best On Air Host”, Music Format. Heather also remains a sought after educator for workshops and festivals across Canada, is on the Board of Directors for SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival, and Jazz in Toronto, and serves on the Advisory Council for Music Canada. She was recently honoured with the Legacy Award at the 2026 SING Toronto Vocal Arts Festival, and between it all, she tried to nap!
